What you may do with Mentora plugins. In short: the code is free software, and what a Pro licence buys you is updates and support, not permission to use it.
The code is GPL
Mentora plugins are WordPress plugins, and they are released under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. That is not a marketing position, it is how WordPress works: a plugin built on it inherits its licence.
So you may run a plugin on as many sites as you like, read the source, change it, and pass your changes on under the same licence. Nothing in this page takes that away, and nothing can.
What a Pro licence buys
A licence key is a subscription to automatic updates and support for the period you paid for. It is not permission to use the software — you already have that — and it is tied to [N] site(s) per plan.
Licences are issued and validated by Freemius. Activating, moving or deactivating a site is done from your Freemius account.
When a licence ends
The plugin keeps working. What stops is the flow of automatic updates and the right to open a support ticket. Because the code is GPL, an expired licence never disables what you have installed — and a plugin that held your site hostage would be a plugin we would not want to write.
Running an unsupported version is your call, but security fixes arrive through updates: we would rather you renewed than stayed on an old build.
What we ask you not to do
Sharing or reselling a licence key is not a copyright matter — it is a breach of the agreement the key comes with, and we can deactivate a key used that way. Redistributing the code itself, on the other hand, is your right under the GPL, and we have no complaint about it.
The free versions
Every Mentora plugin has a free version published on wordpress.org, under the same licence, with support through the public forum. No account and no key: download it and use it.
No warranty
The software is provided as is, without warranty, as the GPL states. This does not affect the rights you have as a consumer under Italian and European law, which no licence can remove.
